The landscape of the Dominican Republic is forested and mountainous, with valleys, plains and plateaus. The Dominican coastline stretches for 1,633 km, and is bordered by the Caribbean Sea to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the north. Sandy, white beaches can be found along the coastline.
