In the capital, Bamako, you will find a few tall buildings, but apart from those, most houses in Mali are small and modest. The typical Malian home is small and is either made of crude cement bricks or the typical building material for Mali - mud bricks. Homes of wealthier people and expatriats are larger, and usually have a garden and a swimming pool.
