The gap between the wealthy and the poor is very pronounced in Honduras. Impoverished families in rural areas typically live on tiny parcels of land, and urban poor often inhabit cramped, unsanitary rows of dirt-floored rooms called cuarteríos. The wealthy and the middle class live in good to luxurious dwellings. |
