Taj Mahal: The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum located in Agra, India. The Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan had the mausoleum built for his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Construction began in 1632 and was completed in approximately 1648. The Taj Mahal is generally considered the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements of Persian, Turkish, Indian, and Islamic architectural styles. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 when it was described as a "universally admired masterpiece of the world's heritage". Safdarjang's Tomb: This marble domed mousoleum was the last famous Mughal monument built in Delhi in 1753-54, by the son of the second Nawab of Oudh. It is a son's tribute to his father, the Wazir of Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah. The structure is a fine example of the architecture of its time. Gandhi Memorial: The memorial, which lies in a park in Delhi, has a simple black marble stone marking the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated following his assassination in 1948. The memorial also includes a museum.
