Mali's population consists of various ethnic groups such as the Manding (52%), Fulani (11%), Saracolé (7%), Mianka (4%), Songhai (7%), Tuareg and Maur (5%), and others that make up for about 14%. Although each ethnic group speaks a separate language, nearly 80% of Malians communicate in Bambara, the common language of the marketplace.
