Housing conditions in Nepal are mostly of a poor standard, but generally better in urban areas than in rural areas. In the whole country, only 14% of the households have access to electricity for lighting. In urban areas the proportion of households using electricity is, however, higher than the national average with 80% of the households having access to electricity. In the rural areas, less than 10% of the households have access to this facility. |
