Magical is a word many people who visit Yemen use to describe it. And indeed it is. If you take a walk down the streets of old Sanaa you will see why; the old, beautiful earth-colored houses with their white decorations and their colored windows look like something out of a fairytale, and the narrow streets can lead you to green gardens, little squares, beautiful mosques, or you can get lost following them into the souk. As a foreigner it is an undivided positive experience walking the streets, as you will be met with nothing but smiles and friendly remarks. Of all the places I've been in the world, the streets of Sanaa have the biggest place in my heart. |
