Most of Djibouti (90%) is a volcanic desert. Djibouti has amazing and unique landscapes such as Lac Abbé and Lac Assal (the lowest point of Africa). There are minor mountain ranges from the coastal plain to the Ethiopian highlands, where the highest point in the country, Mount Moussa of 2063m, is located. The coastline is some 800 km long. Marine life is very rich and Djibouti is known for its great diving possibilities. There are several beaches in Djibouti, among the better is the Sables Blancs with its fine white sand and clear, blue water.
