The landscape of Jordan mainly consists of desert (about 85%), and has many beautiful places like the black basalt deserts in the east to the rugged mountains of the Rift Valley escarpment. The Dead Sea depression, 400m (1300ft) below sea level in the west, is the lowest point on earth. Jordan has a tiny stretch of Red Sea coast, centred on Aqaba. |
