Portugal has a high number of people living in rural areas, and about a third of the Portuguese families live in farms or properties outside urban areas. In the metropolitan areas of Lisbon and Porto, people live in apartment blocs, each apartment usually having two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and one or two bathrooms. Characteristic for Lisbon buildings are the walls that are often decorated with colorful tiles. |
