Almost two-thirds of Serbia is covered with mountains. All the mountains, however, lie in the south of the country. The most important mountains are the Dinaric Alps and the Balkan Mountains, with the highest point being Mount Djeravica (2656 m). In the east of Serbia, the landscape is limestone based. The plain lands in Serbia lie in the northern region of the country. Some of the important rivers flowing across the land are Lim, Sava, Danube, Morava, Drina and Tara.
