About 98% of the Turkish population is Muslim with the remaining composed of Orthodox Christians, Gregorian Christians, Catholic, Suryani and Protestant Christians, Jews, and atheists. Even though almost the entire population is Muslim there is a strong tradition of secularism in Turkey, and the state has no official religion. |
