Myanmar (Burma) - People

Myanmar has a population of 51 million and consists of 135 ethnic groups with their own languages and dialects. The major races are the Kachin, the Kayah, the Kayin, the Chin, the Mon, the Bamah, the Rakhine and the Shan. The name Myanmar embraces all the ethnic groups. The official language is Myanmar. Most women and girls in Myanmar, and some men and boys, wear tanakha on thier faces. Tanakha is a mix between sunscreen and make-up, and is sometimes used in a very decorative way.
