Some 90 percent of the nine million people living in Sweden are of ethnic Swedish origin. The two main minority groups of indigenous peoples are the Finns and the Sami (Lapps). The Finns number about 200,000 and live mainly in the northeast, along the border with Finland. In Sweden's northern interior live some 20,000 Sami. Sweden is home also to thousands of immigrant workers, many of whom were recruited from Turkey, Greece, and the Balkans. Sweden doesn't have an official language, but Swedish is the most commonly spoken and written language.
