[[See these pages in English][Ver estas páginas en Español][Voir ces pages en Français][Vedere queste pagine in Italiano]]
The population of Jordan is almost entirely Arab. The only sizable ethnic minorities in the country are the Circassians and the Armenians; each group accounts for less than 1 percent of the population. The population grew enormously after 1948 as large numbers of Palestinian refugees had to flee their country. Even more Palestineans crossed the river after Israel occupied the West Bank in the Six-Day War of 1967. Jordan is 79 percent urban; nomads and seminomads make up perhaps 5 percent of the population.
