The majority of Armenians follow Christianity, which has existed in Armenia for over 1,700 years. Armenia has its own church, the Armenian Apostolic Church, which most Armenians follow (more than 90%). Small Roman Catholic and Protestant communities exist in Armenia, as well as a Russian Orthodox community. The Kurdish population is mostly Muslim but also includes many Christians.
