Buses are the the most common way to get around in Honduras. The buses are often old, worn out school buses, sometimes referred to as "chicken buses". Flying is another, and faster, way of traveling in the mountainous country. Far from everybody own their own car, but people are often seen sharing a ride. Between Puerto Cortés and Tela there is a weekly train connection, but the train is a very slow and uncomfortable way of getting around.
