The most common way of traveling in Palestine is by minibuses, called Sheruts, that carry about ten passengers, but also shared taxis are a popular means of transportation. Getting around in Palestine is limited by the numerous IDF checkpoints and Israel's habit of closing or blocking major roadways. Many sheruts only ferry passengers between the checkpoints, and it is often necessary to change vehicle a couple of times before reaching your destination. |
