Half of the Korean population actively practices religion. Among this group, Christianity and Buddhism comprise the two dominant religions. Though only few people identify themselves as Confucianists, Korean society is highly influenced by Confucian values. A very small percentage of the population practice Shamanism (traditional spirit worship) and Cheondogyo ("Heavenly Way"), a traditional religion. It is not unusual in Korea to follow several religions at one time.
